Jim and Sonya Butler were married on August 4, 1980 and have three children; Justin, Leah and Anna. Jim was ordained at College Park Church on May 18th, 2003. God’s call upon Jim’s life is obvious to those who know him and it all began in 1991 while he was teaching Sunday school classes and working in the corporate world. During this time he felt more and more drawn toward serving in full-time ministry and less and less drawn to his career. In 1993 Jim understood that it was not yet time for him to follow his heart into ministry, but he also knew that there would be a day when he would teach and preach the Word of God full time. That day would arrive in October 1997 when he accepted the position of Pastor at EastPointe (then Bible Baptist). Jim had first preached at BBC in February 1997, the very same week the Butlers learned they were expecting Anna. The Butler family moved to Peru on January 1st, 1998 when Anna was only six weeks old. Jim serves Christ and our body as our shepherd; preaching as much as four times each week, counseling, leading a Bible Study and shepherding us in countless ways. It is the desire of Jim & Sonya that EastPointe Bible Church would function according to the things God has taught us from His word and that we would bring Him the honor and glory He deserves.

Phil and Lynda Bunce were married in 1972 and have four sons: Steve, Rich, Ben, and Josh. All four are now young men with families of their own which provides Phil and Lynda with the joy of grand parenting 13 energetic grand children. In August of 1999, Phil and Lynda began attending EastPointe where Lynda has since become director of the Library and Resource Center and Phil has become employed as Counselor and Associate Pastor. Both of them serve in the choir and Awana Clubs, Lynda as Puggle’s Club Director, and Phil as Commander. They also serve as Ministry Team Members of the Northern Indiana Awana Ministry under the leadership of Awana Missionaries, Rick and Mary Glover and are frequently called on for teaching, training, and consulting for other Awana Clubs across the north half of Indiana. Their life verse is Isaiah 40:31; “Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

Keith and Tonia Allen have been married since 1990. Keith grew up in a strong Christian home, but didn’t understand true saving faith until sometime in 2000 and Tonia embraced Christ when she was a child during VBS. God has graciously given them four children, Cat, Jon, Vanessa and Emily, who are now in or approaching young adulthood. Since first coming to Peru and EastPointe (then Bible Baptist) in 2000, a desire has been growing in them to help others understand and experience the incredible grace of our Lord through His Word in every area of life. That desire continues today and has culminated in Keith becoming our newest pastor. Keith and Tonia have experienced so much of God’s love and grace through the family of believers at EastPointe, and they consider it a privilege to serve in this way and are committed to do so however God has planned for them.
